Why ESG and Energy Strategy Are Now Central to Scalable Mining

At Crypto Expo Dubai 2025, Reza Nedjatian as a technology executive focused on Bitcoin mining and digital-infrastructure strategy highlighted the growing role of ESG and responsible energy sourcing in the global mining sector. He noted that taxation, compliance, sustainability, and transparency are increasingly determining how operators access capital and scale internationally.

During a panel session, Nedjatian said that the credibility of a mining operation now begins with its power source. Investors, lenders, and regulators are assessing not only output and efficiency, but also the environmental profile and long-term security of the underlying energy supply.

Drawing on his experience across international projects, Nedjatian has consistently emphasised the importance of low-carbon, ESG-aligned power, including hydropower developments in Ethiopia. He views responsible sourcing as a strategic requirement that strengthens financing access, supports partnerships, and underpins scalable growth.

Nedjatian argues that energy selection in mining is no longer a cost-driven decision alone. Instead, it is now a defining factor in whether a business is fundable, durable, and aligned with evolving policy and market expectations.
